Introducing "Airport Spotlight" & Prototype Updates

Since launching the "Airport of the Week" series back in May, I have genuinely enjoyed researching unique airfields and learning the history behind the ICAO codes. However, if you have been following along, you likely noticed that I haven’t quite managed to hit that weekly cadence consistently. To keep these stories coming without the pressure of a misleading title, I am officially renaming the series to "Airport Spotlight."
The primary reason for this shift is that my focus has moved heavily toward product development and the complex planning required for our upcoming Kickstarter campaign. Building a hardware product takes a tremendous amount of time, and I want to ensure I am prioritizing the device itself. This name change gives me the flexibility to post these deep dives when I can give them the attention they deserve. My goal is to get the first official "Airport Spotlight" to go live by the end of this week.
On the development front, I have some exciting news to share. About two weeks ago, I handed out the first PaperMETAR prototype and received some great early feedback that I am incorporating as part of the Kickstarter campaign. I am currently finishing up the second prototype, which I expect to get out into the field later this week. My goal is to get these units into the hands of a few early users now so I can refine the user experience as I get ready to launch the Kickstarter.
